At Wild Coffee Roasters, our story begins with a simple question: What makes a truly great cup of coffee? That curiosity sparked a journey that started with a popcorn popper inside a small kitchen in Manhattan and evolved into a coffee roasting business driven by passion, craftsmanship, and community.

It All Starts with Curiosity

Like many coffee enthusiasts, we once believed that a good cup of coffee was as simple as picking up a bag of beans from the nearest store. But time and time again, something was missing—flavors that fell flat, aromas that didn’t inspire, and a lack of connection to the process behind the brew.

Our founder, Michael Wild, decided to dig deeper into the art and science of coffee. A casual love of great coffee turned into a fascination with understanding how every step of the process—from growing to roasting to brewing—impacts the final cup. Nights were spent researching the science behind coffee, experimenting with brewing methods and different bean origins, and ultimately roasting small batches at home.

What started as a personal quest, quickly became a passion that couldn’t be contained. Friends and family noticed the difference, not just in the coffee’s flavor but in the sense of joy it brought to the table. It wasn’t long before the idea of sharing this passion with a wider audience began to take shape.

In 2015, Wild Coffee Roasters was officially born. The goal was simple yet ambitious: to craft exceptional coffee while building a deeper connection between people and the coffee they drink. Every bean we roast is a reflection of the values that guide us:

The Beans

We work with trusted suppliers who have deep connections to the farms where our coffee is grown. These partnerships allow us to source beans from some of the world’s most renowned coffee-growing regions, such as the lush highlands of Ethiopia and the vibrant plantations of Colombia. By working closely with these suppliers, we ensure that the beans we select are not only of the highest quality but also ethically and sustainably produced. This commitment to responsible sourcing results in better coffee while supporting the communities behind every cup.

The Roast

Roasting coffee is a delicate dance of time and temperature. We take a hands-on approach to roasting, using state-of-the-art equipment and relying on years of expertise to develop flavor profiles that highlight the unique characteristics of each origin.
